Brisbane-based artist, Rachel Apelt uses creative making to navigate the emotional and environmental tensions that shape her daily experience. She works responsively, choosing materials that call to each project across 2D, installation and digital media. She also works as a graphic recorder and illustrator under the banner of Artbalm.
Her installation and 2D works align with contemporary materiality discourses and resonate with environmental art, Arte Povera, and feminist craft traditions, holding vulnerability, memory, and the traces of lived experience.
